a beginner's guide to winning the nobel prize

Anyone who knows me, knows that some of my life heroes are scientists with personality; like Richard Feynman. I love learning, and I love listening to Dr Karl's triple j science podcast.

Recently they had on Peter Doherty; one of the few Australian nobel laureates, receiving an award in the category or medicine/physiology for his work in immunology. I was impressed to find that went to the same University as me - too bad it was 50 years before me, scientists are sexy.

Prof Doherty upholds the very Australian 'give it a go' attitude, and has written a book about what being scientist is all about, and how to win the big prize in the end. The Melbourne Age has an article about it.

I'd like children of today to believe they can make a difference rather than just live the scripted lifestyle.
